The dictionary meaning of engagement refers to, the act of engaging or the state of being engaged. Here we are referring to engagement as a vow that binds individual across their lives.

While using this word one needs to understand the meaning of word engagement. Applicable wide in the culture today, an individual needs to gain a clear understanding to what is Engagement?Engagement for a business worker and the job conscious people is Work, engagement for the parents would be children and house hold, Engagement for wife is husband and vice versa. Engagement for a couple is to be loyal to their partners.

With the little understanding above, engagement can be referred to the act of being committed. Every one of us in some or the other walk of life would have faced an attached or attraction with people or a person of utmost value to us.

Making numerous promises, it gives a value to life and all try to live up to the expected standards of the promises made among them. Proving to be the most beautiful phase of anyones life it involves a lot of patience and sacrifice. At this phase the engagement is focused on the partner or the spouse with other activities happening around them like family, job and among other.

Making them stronger and motivated, this engagement offers them the vows that they never forget in their life. Defiantly proving itself to be very beautiful, this phase or walk of life where they engage themselves firmly might not always prove bless, however still it serves to be an important engagement in their life for them.

The dreams to be together, the words to exchange vows of death and life, getting involved in the future planning and various activities planning that we all would have gone through or still are the phase to go through is a gift from the this walk of life.

However, unfortunately not many of us are successful in their engagement, at this stage. Culminating with pain and sadness, this walk of an individuals life fail them to bound to the promises. Proving to be a great center of learning, this phase teaches an experience to life and a stronger individual who always makes their way ahead.

Fortunately not all face this phase, the few that survive, culminate to get married with the same partner making their life as beautiful as they thought it would be. In both the situation above this engagement teaches a lot and always lead to a stronger human.

With thousand dreams and million plans for the future the survived couple gets engagement to the next phase of life as marriage. It is an event that tokens the couple for the never ending support in their lives.

To conclude, engagement is proves to a blessing for all, at any given phase of life. It gives a chance for an individual, to not only explore themselves but also understand to what they want from their spouse. This avoids clashes and misunderstanding in the married life.

A Towers Perrin study of 86,000 employees worldwide, states that only 14% of the global workforce is highly engaged on the job. These individuals feel a connection to their work and the company and a passion for what they do. They are focused on the job and excited about the work they are doing.

They are high-potential employees who are helping the organization move forward. When a majority of its employees is highly engaged, the company gains stronger revenue growth, lower costs, and higher income than companies who are less engaged.

An especially discouraging finding of the Towers Perrin study is that 62% of employees are only moderately engaged and about 25% are disengaged. A 2005 study by the Gallup Poll found that only 55% of the US workforce is not engaged.

Gallups research also stated that by the time employees have been with an organization for six months, less than 40% are engaged.A recent survey of business executives found that close to three-quarters of those leaders consider employee engagement to be critically important to the competitive success of their companies (Accenture, Outlook 2005). Thus, its vital that we lift the moderately engaged and disengaged to a higher level of engagement.

What is the definition of engagement? Engagement is defined as employees’ willingness and ability to contribute to company success, which ultimately comes down to peoples desire to invest that extra level of discretionary effort that separates outstanding performers from the rest of the pack. (Towers Perrin Working Today: Understanding What Drives Employee Engagement, 2003).

What are the benefits of higher engagement? Highly engaged workers believe they can:

·Contribute to business results.

·Impact the quality of their company’s products.

·Affect customer service.

·Impact costs in their job or unit.

·Make a difference in their company (thus are less likely to leave for another job)

The article, Harnessing the Power of an Engaged Workforce, by Accenture, Outlook 2005, describes the top ten ways to positively influence employee engagement:

1.Rewards and recognition

Ensure that recognition and rewards are clearly and consistently tied to job performance and overall business results.

2.Human capital infrastructure

Ensure that your human resources systems provide managers with the data they need to perform their work in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner. Engaged employees are provided by their organizations with the resources they need to effectively do their jobs.

3.Learning management

Provide the learning opportunities needed for employees to excel at their current jobs and to grow into new ones.

4.Knowledge management

Provide employees with the means to find the knowledge and resources they need to perform optimally.

5.Performance appraisal

Provide frequent, direct performance appraisals. Organizations that perform this process well have 52% higher employee engagement scores than organizations that perform it poorly.

6.Workplace design

Create a physical workplace environment conducive to high performance.

7.Employee relations

Communicate details about major organizational changes and initiate programs to reduce the negative impact of such changes on morale and productivity.

8.Career development

Provide frequent and personalized attention to employee’s career development and planning.

9.Human capital strategy

Ensure that HR programs and policies are consistent and fair for all employees.

10.Recruiting

Recruit from a pool of people most likely to be engaged with your organization’s mission.

While you are searching for your engagement rings and thinking of their perfect design, spend some time reflecting on the moments and meanings of engagement. Engagement has always been time when couples to be exchange their engagement rings, which symbolize the future marriage.

Giving and getting engagement rings signify affection, devotion, trust and everlasting love. When you exchange them, you promise to love someone now and forever. Nowadays, more and more couples choose engagement diamond rings for they are so beautiful, precious and glittery!

Engagement diamond rings can capture all the light of this world and reflect it back. They leave the impression of eternity and glory, the same as your love should be.It is common that engagement rings can be for brides only or for both brides and grooms, depending on tradition and culture.

The same is with engagement diamond rings. Both bride and groom to be can wear them or only bride to be. In the first case, it is nice and useful to choose them together, to agree on their style, design, color and size especially if you plan to wear identical engagement diamond rings.

In the second case, when this bright thing belongs to future bride only, it is advisable to consider her wishes and expectations and choose an engagement diamond ring that perfectly matches her style and personality. Engagement diamond rings deserve all time of this world for they should be on your fingers ever after and match with wedding rings as well.

Engagement diamond rings are special for the story about diamonds. They come in different cuts, colors, carats and clarity. Engagement diamond rings are usually rare and expensive, but at the same time very desirable. They convey the message of total love feelings, and through every ray of light reflect back all subtle emotions that you keep for your love.

Engagement diamond rings are eye-catching and attention grabbing. Having them or either left or right ring hand means more than just loving someone. It is love towards someone special, love at first sight, eternal love with the final aim of trust and fidelity.

Whatever your favorite color is, if possible, shoot for colorless engagement diamond rings. Being colorless is what makes them so pure, crystal and exclusive. Do not be surprised by their price, as they thoroughly deserve that value! If you want clear and bright reflection, your choice should be colorless engagement diamond rings.

If you still want a color, do not worry as you can find them in numerous ones. Once you have chosen the color and the style, consider the clarity and cut of engagement diamond rings. Some people do not mind having some specks and flaws in these precious stones, considering that inseparable part of nature.

If you want absolutely clear engagement rings avoid any flaws. The cut means light capturing and reflection- it must not bee neither too deep nor too shallow. Another very important detail is the carat or the size of the stone. The choice is only yours! Whatever engagement diamond rings you choose, wear them in love, harmony and happiness!

Anyone who has looked at all of the scams on the Internet offering guaranteed success in business for just a small investment probably knows exactly what I’m talking about. People get crazy about money, and they do stupid things when they should know better.

As insane as people get over money, however, they get even crazier over romance. People get dating advice from anyone. People get dating tips from psychics, from friends who have had little relationship success, and from so-called experts with no professional credentials.

From Dr. Phil to the palm reader down at the county fair, the world of dating advice is filled with quacks. Although sometimes these people give good advice on dating, you are always taking a risk when you listen to them. Is it worth the risk?

I used to get relationship advice from a good friend of mine. He presented himself as a real ladies man, but the reality was much different. He got a lot of dates with a lot of different girls it was true, but part of the reason was because none of them wanted to stay with him for more than a date or two.

We thought he was such a stud at the time that we listened to his dating advice, but it was always terrible. All of his relationship tips inevitably failed. Sure, his dating advice could help us to find a date. He would help us get our relationship profile in order for online dating services, or practice that perfect pickup line. He would not, however, help us make our relationships last.

When you get dating advice from someone, it is important that you first know a little bit about their personal life. I am not saying that someone who doesn’t have a good relationship history can’t give good dating advice, but I am saying that it should make you wonder.

There are some people who can tell you the right thing to do but can’t do it themselves, but for every one of them there are at least five who tell it just exactly like they do it. The bottom line is that you should not trust someone for dating advice just because of their so-called expertise. Instead, find a friend who has had at least one very stable relationship and has very good powers of self perception. Get your dating advice from him.

What a strange title for an article, I write online dating advice so why would I encourage people not to read it?

Clearly I believe there is some good dating advice on the internet or I wouldn’t waste my time writing dating advice and tips but I want people to think about what they are reading and who the author is before they take anything they read as gospel.

Here are 5 things to carefully consider before you take the advice of dating “experts”.

1. Everything written is an opinion from someone with a given history. Just google “article writing+fee” and see how many people in countries like India offer to write articles for website owners for a fee. India is simply one example but life there is somewhat different on the dating scene and their knowledge may well come from watching re-runs of Baywatch and Dallas.

Check who is writing the website content, do their articles all sound as though they are written by the same person, are they writing from a personal perspective and if so what is their dating history?

2. The words “expert” and “guru” are over-used and I rarely read advice from anyone calling themselves either. What qualifies someone as an expert at dating? If they have been constantly dating for 30 years then they either have commitment issues or are very bad at dating.

Just take Dr Phil, would I read his advice on how to have a long and happy marriage? Absolutely but would I read his advice on dating in your 40′s in 2008? What does he really know about the current dating scene, he isn’t dating.

3. Dating advice that includes comments like “I can make you attractive to men/women even if you are fat and ugly”. Would you go into a clothes shop and accept advice from a shop assistant that called you fat and ugly? I doubt it, so why would you accept being insulted simply because it’s online.

False promises of making you attractive to the opposite sex rely on your lack of confidence in order to get you to buy their book or video or whatever they are selling. Take advice from people that respect who you are and aren’t desperately trying to sell you something.

4. Beware of the bitter and twisted. Blogging is a platform for many types of people but that includes those that simply want to rant about their bad experiences. There are many dating blogs that simply catalogue a serious of disastrous dates, call men names and generalise about the opposite sex, particularly written by women in their 40′s but I have yet to read one that stops and asks herself if perhaps she is the problem. Avoid these blogs, they usually have no real constructive advice to offer.

5. The ones that state “I am the same as you so my advice is best for you”. Don’t just read advice from people of the same age, gender and situation, much can be learned from reading the thoughts of the opposite sex and older people that have been there, done that and bought the t-shirt.

If you are recently divorced then don’t read advice by someone who is also recently divorced and trying to date again, find a writer that has been divorced, began dating again and is now in a long term relationship they have the experience you want to hear about.
